I am passionate about the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. I focus on wild open uplands, the ecosystems that evolve and form distinctive patterns, and the remnants of our farming heritage that all combine to inform my imagination and my palette.

About Me

I have been a watercolour artist practicing in Yorkshire and Lancashire for the past 20+ years. My art expresses my feelings about a subject rather than being truly representational. I am moved by the intensity of J. M. W. Turner's ethereal paintings and more modern day artist Michael Morgan both of whom challenged watercolour ‘rules’ with loose and evocative styles.

A truly independent arts outlet run by Nicholas Armstrong in the stunning surroundings of Clapham village a key tourist destination in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Folly

The Folly houses the Museum of North Country Life, it is an extraordinary historic house and museum in the town of Settle, nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It has a magnificent licensed coffee house, and small shop.
