From my studio

Hello I'm Bev

I'm known regionally as a sheep artist, although I mainly focus on wild open uplands, ecosystems, distinctive patterns and remnants of farming heritage, all of these feed my imagination and practice.

About Me

I have been a practicing watercolour artist based in Yorkshire and Lancashire for the past 20+ years. My art expresses my feelings about a subject rather than being truly representational. I am moved by the intensity of J. M. W. Turner's ethereal paintings and more modern day artist Michael Morgan both of whom challenged the watercolour ‘rules’ with loose and evocative styles.

Where to find me

My studio is based at Craven Arts in Skipton

We currently have seven studio holders at Craven Arts House - a catalyst for creativity - where all our studio holders support the Craven Arts Charitable Trust in promoting the arts for the Craven area of Yorkshire.

Studio 3 at Craven Arts House

As part of a former parish school my lovely light studio incorporates the original wooden screens that originally separated boys from girls - these days we let both in together!

Gallery

My artworks are arranged to reflect the variety of my interests and to guide you to where you want to be

Selections of my cards ...

My eco friendly cards are blank inside, useful as notelets as well as for sending greetings. Produced entirely in house on FSC certified and CO2 neutral card stock, most images can be produced as cards on request .... see my Contact page

Celebrating our glorious Yorkshire Dales

Colour choices…

I'm instinctively led to green gold, burnt sienna and indigo as my signature colours, their tones and hues help to express my feelings about the natural world, especially its geology and sometimes terrain.

Where to find my Artwork

I exhibit at selected art exhibitions, local art and craft events, and regional agricultural shows
